Projects Lifecycle

Project runtime and token budget

Usage end

The start and end dates of your project can be seen below the headline ASC Compute resources.
After that date, the project remains functional, but no new users can be added.

Grace period

The further relevant dates are visible to the right of the previously described items. Until the date indicated by 'grace period end' (one month after project and), jobs can still be submitted and the project is still fully usable.
After this date, job submission will be disabled and all running jobs get cancelled. Login and access to the data remains possible

Login Deadline

After the date shown for 'login deadline' (four months after project end), login gets disabled for the users. The project data is still retained.

multiple projects

If your user is involved in more than one project, login is always possible as long as one of the projects has not yet reached the login deadline.

Final data deletion

The date labelled 'final data deletion' is the time until we guarantee the storage of the project data. After that date, the data can be removed by us.

data retention

we currently do not remove old project data, even after project expiry. However, as the storage fills up, we will implement that measure at some time.

Token budget overview

Below these dates and the general info of your project, the available and currently used tokens are displayed. When the token budget is used up, the project goes into the low priority idle queue, which makes computations almost impossible.

Extensions

To extend the project runtime and/or the token budget, click on 'extend compute' to the right of the token budget. There, tick the appropriate item(s), set the desired amount, enter into the comments why it is requested and click on 'send request'.
You will be notified as soon as the request is granted.

usage end

The extension of the runtime (usage end) is always in days added to the current usage end date.

Storage resources

Below the Compute Resources section the various project storage resources are displayed. The following items all exist once for the Vienna site, the Linz site and the Innsbruck site.

backup

Backup is not yet implemented on MUSICA at all. So please make sure to back up all important data at your side.

GPFS

The entries called "site name"/GPFS describe the state of the projects DATA volume for the respective site. The line 'backup state' indicates whether the data is being backed up. Below is a line showing the available and currently used number of files as well as the available and currently used amount of space (in GB).

WEKA

The item called "site name"/WEKA shows the state of the projects SCRATCH volume for the respective site. It shows the backup state as well as the available and currently used amount of space (in GB).

Extensions

To the roght of each site description is a button labelled 'extend storage". By clicking that, the resources for the appropriate site can be extended. Tick the needed line(s), set the desired amount, enter into the comments why it is requested and click on 'send request'.
You will be notified as soon as the request is granted.

Users

To add or remove users, see the project creation page
To change or extend user-bound resources, go to user info in the upper part of the menu bar to the left.

Default project, Affiliation

Your user is automatically associated with the first project you are assigned to as the default project. Which one is also visible in the second section of the user info page. The default project can be changed (if your user is involved in more than one project) with the button 'change default project' to the right.
If you are affiliated with more than one organisation, you can also change the default affiliation with the button 'change default affiliation'.

User Storage Resources

Below the previously mentioned section, the storage resources for the users HOME folder at the three sites are listed. Each site shows the available and currently used number of files and the available and currently used amount of space (in GB). Extension are not yet possible.
